Structurally, chitooligosaccharides, including glucosamine and trimer, are linear oligosaccharides composed of 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose and 2-acetamino-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose units which are linked by β(1 → 4) glycosidic bonds.
