Time courses of the asymmetric reduction of OPBE to ( R )-HPBE. Time courses of the asymmetric reduction of OPBE to (R)-HPBE in a monophasic aqueous system and in the aqueous/isooctane biphasic system. Reaction conditions: 1.5 g wet cells suspended in 10 mL PBS (0.1 M, pH 7.5) containing 1.0 g glucose mixed with 10 mL isooctane containing 2 mmol OPBE incubated at 35°C and 180 rpm. The monophasic aqueous system was 20 mL PBS (0.1 M, pH 7.0) containing 1.0 g glucose and 0.4 mmol OPBE.
