Effect of simultaneous treatments using chitosan and other elicitors on a plumbagin content; b total plumbagin yield; c dry root biomass. Fourteen-day P. indica root cultures were treated with 150 mg chitosan L−1 (singly) or combined with methyl jasmonate, salicylic acid, 1-naphthol, yeast extract, MCD, AgNO3, sodium acetate and ʟ-alanine. Control is untreated root cultures with equal amount of distilled water or 2% ethanol added on the 14th day. Measurements were taken after 72-h treatment from day 14 treatments. Values are mean ± SE of triplicate experiments. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA, using Tukey’s test for multiple comparison.
