Simple model of copper homeostasis mechanism in S. erythraea. SACE_0528 and SACE_1321 were up-regulated with the deletion of SACE_0101, while SACE_2475 down-regulated. The protein encoded by SACE_0102 recognizes extracellular Cu2+, followed by autophosphorylation and phosphotransfer to the response regulator (encoded by SACE_0101). Phosphorylated regulator affects or regulates the transcriptional level of three downstream genes. This resulted in a transcriptional activation of SACE_0528 and SACE_1321 and inactivation of SACE_2475
